volunteer opportunities
The Nevada Society of CPAs accomplishes many great initiatives that benefit the profession and society; however, none of this would be possible without the volunteers on committees, task forces, interest groups, and special volunteer programs. These groups provide a great opportunity for members to network with other professionals throughout the state, expand professional knowledge, and serve the accounting profession.
The NVCPA works with various community organizations to help provide our members with worthwhile volunteer opportunities. Our statewide outreach helps members find volunteer openings that fit their schedule and geography. committee service
Becoming part of an NVCPA committee offers you the opportunity to make a difference in the accounting profession and the community, while enhancing your professional experience. You can help guide your organization through committee and task force leadership teams that advise the Board of Directors, expand your own professional knowledge, and are of service to the profession. The Nevada Society of CPAs gets the job done through the work of volunteers on statewide committees. This active committee system is the backbone of the Society. Committees operate with specific objectives for programs and special activities during the year.

task force
Task Forces are groups that plan one or two specific events, such as conferences and the Distinguished Speakers Dinner, within the course of a year, and only meet when, and if needed. To join a task force, please contact Sharon Uithoven at 800-554-8254.
Interest groups
The Nevada Society of CPAs (NVCPA) member interest groups give members the opportunity to participate with CPAs who share like interests in a common practice area without regard to time and distance barriers. Sections are member communities that exist online and in a peer to peer environment. Each section has their own web site which is tailored to fit their specific area of expertise. Members will have access to content specific to their practice area and have the ability to communicate, network, and educate through listserves. Each section has a Leadership Team who guides the direction and activities of the group.

Ambassador Program
The Society's CPA Ambassador Program offers members access to top-quality spokesperson training, as well as extensive background tools! Each CPA who participates in the program is trained on four critical message quadrants that will help reintroduce the CPA profession to the American public: In the Public Interest, Financial Literacy, Recruitment, and Small Business. Support tools include prepared speeches, talking points, guidance on handling tough media questions, and briefings on related issues that dominate today's headlines. CPAs will also have the opportunity to emphasize the CPA profession’s commitment to battling fraud, improving auditing standards and quality, and shoring up small businesses that represent the main economic engine of this country. The CPA Ambassador Program aims to focus attention on the untold story and value of our profession, one community at a time. Our goal is simple: to engage the talents of CPAs to help earn the good men and women of this profession their due.
